To inculcate this thought We DWPS Observed World heart day Assembly on November 23rd with our little kiddiewinks of Grade 2. “World Heart day” is observed every year on September 29th all over the world.
Our Assembly started with prayer song followed by state Anthem. What is a heart ? and Facts about the Heart was shared. Then our little kiddiewinks explained about the causes of heart disease and how to prevent Our heart from attack . Few information regarding the healthy food habits was depicted in a nut shell. Finally the Assembly came to an end with our Principal Mam’s address.
WORLD TSUNAMI AWARENESS DAY - 22ND NOVEMBER 2023
In regard, with World Tsunami Awareness Day the children of Pride 3 D conducted assembly on 22.11.2023 (Wednesday). The day started with the prayer song followed by inspiring thought by Ishaany, brief note about Tsunami by Suhani & Sonika saanvi. Nithilan’s tsunami awareness tips and Oviya’s apt nature related Thirukkural was thought provoking. A mime was enacted to depict the consequences of Tsunami. Sarvesh, the compere of the whole show requested everyone to pay tribute to the innocent people who have lost their lives in tsunami. “Don’t Play with Nature or else Nature can play with us too”. Let us love and respect nature – was a great take away by the audience.
WORLD TELEVISION DAY - 21ST NOVEMBER 2023
The United Nations General Assembly declared November 21 to be World Television Day (through resolution 51/205 of December 17, 1996) in recognition of the growing influence television has on decision-making by drawing attention to conflicts and threats to peace and security as well as its potential role in sharpening ..
The theme for the World Television Day 2023 is Accessibility.
The Assembly by Grade 4 Dwpians started with our prayer followed by National Anthem. Our kiddos explained about the Merits & Demerits, DWPS news in Ancient Vs Modern way,Interesting facts & History of the Television based on the theme Accessibility ( the quality of being easy to approach).
The assembly ended up cheerfully with phenomenal Tamil kavithai and Principal Ma’am addressed the assembly with valuable information regarding Television and its drawbacks like release of Dopamine chemical while watching TV..
NATIONAL CANCER AWARENESS DAY - 21ST NOVEMBER 2023

The early morning hours welcomed all with the School Prayer followed by the State anthem. A brief explanation about the Cancer and its causes, treatment was delivered by Prithika Sri. The thought was delivered by Hardik. A thirukural from அதிகாரம் -மருந்து was recited by Divya yaalini. Abhishek was invited to share the Word for the day. Rebekkah felcy and Krishika, the compere of the assembly concluded the assembly with a pledge to show their compassion, love and care for the cancer patients.
A skit was enacted to depict not to Isolate the cancer patients or their family members and to support them. Every child was given the opportunity and platform to display their talent. Our respected Principal mam addressed the assembly and shared information about causes and effects of cancer. Prayer ended with the small exercise activity conducted by Physical Education Trainers.
INTERNATIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE DAY - 16TH NOVEMBER 2023
“Sign language is the noblest gift god has given to deaf people”
The International Day of sign language is celebrated on september 23rd to promote Deaf and dump people. The choice of 23rd September commemorates the date that the WFD was established in the year 1951.The International day of sign language was first celebrated in 2018 as a part of the International week of the deaf. With this objective we DWPians planned to celebrate this sign language day with great enthusiasm through our Grade 2 kiddiewinks Assembly presentation. Our tiny tots of Raptors and Prides were the observers.
Our Assembly started with prayer song followed by a beautiful Thought with explanation. History behind the day of sign language was shared and it was informative. Few tips were shared by our kido regarding the tips to communicate with deaf and dumb people.Hindi quotes and its translation were explained by our young buds.To give more information three famous personalities were illustrated related to deaf and dumb people. Then our little kiddiewinks demonstrated the sign word through action-packed mime show. Finally the Assembly came to an end with our Coordinator Mam’s address and she cherished presenters of grade 2C kiddoz .

With these objectives we DWPians planned to invoke the importance why we should preserve the ozone layer to preserve our planetthrough our Grade 2 stripling’s assembly presentation on “WORLD OZONE DAY”. Our tiny tots of GRADE 2 were the observers.
Our Assembly started with the prayer song followed by a new word with its explanation. Then the importance of Ozone through a courtesy poem in Tamil by our little one.Our little kiddiewinks demonstrated the theways in which the ozone layer gets affected and the steps we should follow to keep the ozone hole healthy through a “MIME SHOW”. Finally the Assembly came to an end with a short explanation of today’s theme on ozone and with our Co-ordinator mam’s address,appreciations to the presenters of the assembly.

World PhotographyDay is celebrated on August 19 every year Everyone around the world celebrates World Photography Day through various events.
DWPIAN’S planned to celebrate world Photography daywith our young minds of Grade 2A through assembly on 31.08.23.The assembly started with the introduction of Photographyand the new word and Thought.
Children shared the message in various topics. Our Art Master Niruban Sir made a Big camera which attracted the audience. Old Photography technique was explained by Gowtham Parthiban. Jeyanthika, Shraddha, Lohith and Ziya explained the Principles of Photography.
Sree Lakshmi shared a tamil poem on Photography and Dhaanya spoke about Photography in Hindi.
Our co-ordinator ma’am encouraged the children and appreciated their performance.

With this wonderful quote and objective we DWPians planned to invoke the thought of playing chess through our “GRADE 2B Striplings assembly presentation”.
The assembly started with a welcome note followed by the prayer song. Then we had a thought for the day in “Hindi” as well as in “English”. Next we a Tamil poem that was explained by our little one about the coins in the chess boards and their moves.
Another little rock star explained some new facts about chess. Then we had our littles ones on stage who explained about the “SIX PIECES IN CHESS” The King, The Rook, The Bishop, The Queen, The Knight, The Pawn by using picture cards that made the children to understand the concept clearly.
Then we had a questionary session in which the children who gave the correct answer were appreciated and awarded. Then the assembly ended with the vote of thanks.

“Get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted”.As the above quote states, nothing is granted for free. The kids insisted the importance of environment right from the beginning.The essence of the assembly was International Plastic Free Day,Prithika and Oviya instigated the assembly.
Krishika, Rakshitha, Ashvika represented as Soil, Air and Water. They recited the ill effects of plastics on all these. Ruthika and Supraja yowled on the ravages of plastics.
Yadharth gave an oration on causes of plastics. Ishaany gave a thought on the effects of plastics in Hindi.”Sonika, Arockiya Abilesh, Sheza, Durai Illamaran, Arokiya Akilesh and Indra gave some tips to avoid plastics.
More than fifteen students participated in mime and illustrated, how homo sapiens plunder the earth’s sources. The carol has a primitive strength and haunting simplicity. Shanmuga, Bhavana, Suhani mesmerized us with their flabbergasted vocals.
Madam Principal and Our Co-ordinator gave an exotic sermon on the effects of plastics and precautionary measures to carry on. Exclusively certain points were given by Madam Principal.

Accepting, appreciating and transmitting the beauty and power of the Indian fitness and relaxation technique – Yoga, The Delhi World Public School, Madurai organized a versatile compilation of contests related to yoga and music. An amazing yoga cum music oriented school assembly was hosted in the KP Auditorium, where the DWPS fraternity witnessed a spiritual initiation, followed by breath taking sun salutation displays, speeches on yoga for wellness, digestion, respiration, blood circulation, sound sleep, career opportunities in yoga, power of music therapy etc. and a thematic mime performance by the senior DWPians .Under the guidance and supervision of veteran yoga masters, several yogasanas, breathing and relaxation techniques etc were arranged in the school auditorium, for the ever ready and energetic students and facilitators. The DWPS management team, principal, vice principal, academic coordinators and facilitators added to the days significance with their encouraging and motivating presence and attitudes. A pledge to inculcate yoga in one’s daily routine was delivered ,ultimately leading to the unison of the body’s rhythm, the minds melody and the souls harmony… the underlying motto of yoga and music.

On 1ST December 2022 Our Tamil Literary Club Assembly, conducted this eventful assembly to entertain and inform students about the history, culture, and achievements associated with Tamil, the language of Tamilnadu. The assembly started with a Prayer song followed by Thamil thaai Vaazhthu. The assembly took its pace with insurmountable tongue twisters. The kids introduced new vocabulary as a contribution to the field of language development followed by a chilling dance performance and a song. A Speech always plays a key role in popularizing a language and our students popularised the language even better through their blood-warming speech. Students from classes 2 -5 participated in the Assembly. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the live programme.

VETERANS DAY - 11TH NOVEMBER 2022
DWPS -Primary Wing has observed “Veterans Day” on November 22, 2022, to remember the service of our veterans, and let the children renew our national promise to fulfil our sacred obligations to our veterans and their families who have sacrificed so much so that we can live free. A Special Assembly was conducted by the grade 3 kiddos.
The assembly began with a prayer to seek the blessings of the Almighty. The students delivered the ten iconic quotes of Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose while a few children added the proper pronunciation of a few words to our vocabulary. The grade 3 Mentors ‘ stories on the theme of the Month, exposed the ideas of true charity. All the students had a delightful time. The show stopper was an energetic and rhythmic dance performance.
The Primary Coordinator appreciated the assembly presenters and interacted with the students on the theme of the assembly.
NATIONAL CANCER AWARNESS DAY - 7TH NOVEMBER 2022
“Fight the Fight, Find the Cure”. – Cancer Awareness Day. In order to create awareness among the children Cancer Awareness Day was celebrated in our school on 8 November 2022. Students of Grade 4 presented the assembly enthusiastically and revealed quotes, a speech on preventing cancer, Rally on Eating Healthy food & New words. The significance of this day is to create cancer awareness and remove the stigma and fear attached as well as to have a healthy lifestyle. The assembly was concluded with our Madam Principal’s thought provoking speech.
NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY - 10TH NOVEMBER 2022
Every year, 11th November is observed as National Education Day. On account of this great day, our Grade 2 children have presented an impressive assembly to inculcate the importance of Education in young champs of DWPS. The assembly started with an enlightening history of National Education Day and its significance, which was clearly explained with the theme of the year 2022 – “Changing Course, Transforming Education” followed by an informative quiz presented for the kids with famous quotes related to education. Next to it, to instil the importance of Charity, a delightful poem in Tamil was delivered. And then to enhance the vocabulary of our children, new words and its meaning were introduced. A didactic English skit was performed to portray on the importance of education, tailed by an open question to our little ones, why Education is important to us? The Master of Ceremony drove the flow of the programme wonderfully. To conclude, Madam Principal addressed the gathering with encouraging words.
GRAND PARENTS DAY CELEBRATION - 5TH NOVEMBER 2022
AGE IS JUST A NUMBER and it’s been proven at the DWPS campus through the astounding gathering, “Grand Parents’ Day”. “Well-planned is half done” and the heat of the celebration started a week before, with all the preparatory work from every team member of the DWPS family. On 5th Nov ‘2022, the celebration started and soon the entire arena was engulfed by our DWPians’ Grandparents with their grandsons and granddaughters. An array of contests like flameless cooking, bouquet making and rangoli using coloured pulses and flowers were organized. Grandparents festooned themselves stunningly for the “Fashion Parade” event and the stage went on with high turbulence with their enthralling ramp-walk show. The “Talentia” program was top-notch where many grandparents unveiled their talents that include singing, painting and the show-stopping moment was the dance performance given by one of our grandparents along with his granddaughter. We are sure that this gathering gave everyone an exhilarating moment to cherish in their lifetime. DWPS always make one step ahead to carve the goodness in our children and this gathering is one such example.
ONAM CELEBRATION - 8TH SEPTEMBER 2022
“As Onam sets in, happiness floats in the air. The sweet fragrance of flowers and the aroma of home-cooked delicacies tease our senses. Onam is not just a festival to cherish,but a moment to reincarnate a past of prosperity and goodness.” The DWPS management, facilitators and students celebrated Onam with pomp and splendor, in full spirits and vigor. Huge athapookalams, which are an assimilation of design of assorted bright flowers, ideas, commitment, group work and perseverance filled the DWPS entrance, auditorium while students of grades 2 to 11 contested in the athapookalam contest .Clad in traditional Kerala saris and Indian outfits, both facilitators and students assembled together, to witness a colorful and lively assembly which portrayed the homecoming of King Mahabali, who was accompanied by a Kathakali dancer, a traditional dance icon of Kerala. A vibrant and well synchronized Thiruvathira dance followed by a mouth-watering depiction of Onam sadhya on stage and the electrifying DWPS snake boat race, culminated with a few popular onam games like “Bindi sticking for the pretty girl” and the “Tug of War” battle between the teachers and various grades of DWPians. One more Onam has been celebrated our lives reminding us that giving, sharing, loving and celebrating together is the essence of Onam.

The photophiles of grade 6A captured the sweet memories of the day, as they unveiled their performances based on the magic of photography art. The enthusiastic shutterbugs shared the history of origin and evolution of cameras, introduced” morii “as the thematic word of the day and shared informative and interesting facts on photography-the pause button of life.
The assembly concluded on a positive and soothing message by principal ma’am who advised students to photograph only what they love, with their eyes, heart and mind and appraised photography as a supreme power and skill of freezing time with a click.
International Youth Day - 30TH JULY 2022
Delhi World Public School, Madurai celebrated the International Youth Day on July 30,2022. When we think of young generation, we get an image of Swami Vivekananda ,who believed in young minds and hence the Primary wing commemorated him to be the International Youth Icon where the children of Grade 2 adorned themselves as Little Swamijis and presented a ramp walk which left the entire audience awestruck. Quotes of Swamiji’s were emphasized on this assembly and the entire assembly was presented by our Gregarious Grade 2 kids. The idea that we took Swamiji as the role model for the International Youth Day is to make every child believe that youth has infinite potential which should be utilized only for the goodness of our country. Like a lightning danced across the sky, the powerful quotes orated by our kids gave a pulsating rhythm in our nerves. The assembly encouraged the children to develop into an young nation to build the strong future of India. The programme was greatly appreciated by Sir Director and Madam Principal. Undeniably, it was a spectacular show and many more to come.
NATIONAL BOOK LOVERS DAY - 28TH JULY 2022
National Book Lovers Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Delhi World Public School, Madurai. The Grade 3 kids took the charge of encouraging bibliophiles and literature reading among students. It is believed that one of the strongest and loudest tools of communication is reading. A special assembly was organized for the purpose .The assembly started with prayer followed by the state anthem. The students’ show shared powerful quote, vocabularies about reading. The song and the mime was showcased all about reading skills, reading habit and it’s benefits. The assembly took it’s colorful turn by the art showcase by a resource person from New Delhi .The show drawn the curtains with Madam Principal’s address where the children were encouraged to foster a love of literacy.

The Kalam’s Vision Club of DWPS, Madurai paid tributes to the Missile man..Student’s icon.. People’s President, BharatRatna Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, on his 7th death anniversary, by hosting a spectacular and striking assembly which reflected flashbacks from the great souls life.
Commencing on an auspicious note, with the lamp lighting ceremony by our Director sir, Principal, Vice principal, Club coordinator and members, followed by the prayer song, tamil thaivaazhthu and the school flag hoisting, the President and Secretary of the club executed a commendable job as Masters of the Ceremony.
A praiseworthy skit by the middle wing of DWPS, enacting the major life turning events in Dr. Kalam’s life was well portrayed on dais, in 5 scenes :Inspiration grows wings on the beach, Deadlines don’t exist, Height of honesty, Ardent lover of nature, Epitome of simplicity and humility…
A DWPian of grade 6, disguised as Dr. APJ, delivered a laudable speech on “Dream and Fly”, throwing light on the sequential process of learning, creativity, knowledge, all leading to greatness. A patriotic dance tribute, “Salam to Kalam” by DWPians of grades 6,7 and 8, was loudly applauded by the DWPS family, which was simultaneously backed by a live painting of the “Man Beyond Science”, BY a grade 9 artist, which was assured to be framed as a souvenir, on the walls of DWPS corridor.
The rest of the show was stolen by grade 11 science students, who rendered an exquisite speech on rocket science and the ten major contributions of Dr. Kalam. The climax of the assembly turned out to be the much awaited, manual DWPS rocket launching session, by the last benchers of grade11(science stream), with our worthy Director sir, taking the lead. The exemplary assembly culminated on a thankful note by Ms.Nabanita Sinha, the club convener and beautifully layered by the following sterling messages :

English Literary Club ASSEMBLY - 23RD JULY 2022
On July 23,2022 ,the Literary club(Primary Wing) of Delhi World Public School, Madurai geared up to entertain and inform the students about the various genres in English Language. The club assembly started with prayer followed by the state Anthem. Students from Grade 2 to 5 participated in the assembly and entertained the audience with various activities like “Pronounce me right, Group poem recitation, Story narration and Quiz on the importance of Chess. At the end, our Madam Principal addressed the students and encouraged to have regularized reading habit .The programme was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience. It was a real infotainment.
World Hepatitis Day - 19TH JULY 2022
Delhi World Public School, Madurai, celebrated World Hepatitis Day on 19th July, 2022 to raise awareness about Hepatitis. The day was an opportunity for all to get a detailed knowledge about Hepatitis – the cause, prevention, treatment and care. The Assembly was an attempt to emphasize the importance of being healthy and having healthy organs. The Assembly started with prayer, the grade 5 children took over the assembly and showcased the importance to have healthy liver through Mime and other activities .The Assembly was concluded by Madam Vice Principal’s address. The Assembly enhanced the understanding on the importance of the day and also the children received a deep understanding on the prevention of viral Hepatitis. The information through the assembly that over “400 million people are living with hepatitis B and C worldwide, 1.4 million die due to these infections every year. Transmission of this virus can be prevented through better awareness and services that improve vaccinations, blood and injections safety to reduce harm” made the children realize the importance of being healthy . The assembly projected that it is important for everyone to be aware of the risk factors of Hepatitis and that to help in hepatitis free generation.

In succession with the conduct of the DWPS Student Council 2022-23 elections, bravely surpassing the ferocious and quarrelsome windstorm, the chosen Office bearers, class monitors, club secretaries and the SQC members of DWPS, Madurai, were inducted into their official designations through a badge conferring and an oath taking ceremony.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Lt Col. S.Sathiamoorthy (Retd), a graduate of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and an
alumini of Indian Military Academy, College of Material Management ,Jabalpur and Military War College how, marked his admirable presence in military attire. Specialized in military logistics, supply chain management and military explosives, and a keen sportsman at national level, he served the Indian Army for 3 decades. The honorable Chief Guest was accompanied by the DWPS Chairman, Managing Director, Principal, Vice principal, Academic coordinators and the Administration staff while the facilitators, parents and the student community assembled under the canopy of a spacious marquee .The enthronement agenda commenced on an auspicious note with the school prayer, tamil thaivaazhthu, lamp lighting ceremony, hoisting of the School, National and Olympic flags, welcome address by principal, followed by a traditional, classical invocation dance. The promising future leaders of DWPS marched in pride with their heads and shoulders held high, followed by their honoring and oath taking session. Presidential address by our dynamic director sir, bold and confident addresses by the DWPS Head boy and Head girl, keynote address by worthy chairman sir and an inspirational address by the chief guest charged the turbulent ambience and witnessing audience, with messages on personal ethics, social consciousness, professional competencies. The DWPS audience loudly applauded the felicitation session of the versatile teacher achievers, who won multiple prizes for a variety of contests conducted in DWPS on Women’s Day. Curtains were drawn for the grand ceremony with a vote of thanks, a sweet and memorable photo session and the rendering of the glorious Indian National Anthem.

To honour the young activist Malala Yousafzai, International Malala’s Day was celebrated in our school on 12 July, 2021. Students of Grade 4 presented the assembly enthusiastically and exhibited quotes, speech facts , Poem about Malala.
The significance of this day is to imbibe the real strength that one should believe in themselves.
CLUB ASSEMBLY - 9TH JULY 2022
The club assembly of Primary sector was initiated well by the members of Kalam’s vision club. It has begun with the almighty blessings followed by Tamil Thaai Vaazhthu. The assembly was lit up with a powerful quote which paved the way on stage for a wonderful skit – Interview with Dr. APJ Kalam followed by a thought filling theme based mime, “Respect Individual”. The assembly was enlightened with the knowledge of science with programs- Quiz and Fascinating facts. All those programs were co-ordinated unanimously by the MC team. Finally, the thought kindling club assembly ended by paying respect to our nation.
NATIONAL CHOCOLATE DAY - 7th juLY 2022
The Delhi World Public School ,Madurai , celebrated World Chocolate Day with enthusiasm to melt the hearts and bring happiness into learning . The motto behind this assembly was to work on speaking skills, creative learning through fun activities and to make the children acquire more information on the topic “World Chocolate Day. To brighten the day of students of Primary Wing, Grade 2 kids were on toes to make this assembly more unique. The Assembly started with prayer and they took over to express their delight by speaking few lines on the benefits of chocolates. Their mouth-watering words of chocolates were really admirable. The student enjoyed the real delight of chocolate along with a dance Performance and In the end , Madam Principal addressed the kids on the benefits and limits of eating chocolate and this start made the day Awesome.

Pitchiah Pillai and his empowering better half Smt. R. Kalyaniammal, to elevate the literacy rate among women, thereby paving way for a powerful working class of women.
The management team, facilitators and students of Delhi World Public school, Madurai honored and paid homage to the immortal soul by hosting an empowering and encouraging school assembly, on Monday, July 4, 2022,by the blooming Senior secondary wing, based on the underlying theme”Women Empowerment “. The DWPS fraternity witnessed a spectacular voice and vision display set to the back score of the Nobel Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzais speech, a motivational group song, a mime on the transition of education and an innovative portrayal of the success journey of our founder leader. Evergreen memories of our founder were shared by our esteemed secretary, managing director and principal ma’am, followed by the offering of flowers and prayers at the foot of our founder leader. As a golden feather is to a crown, a spacious mini auditorium was inaugurated as well, on this auspicious day.A sweet treat was offered by the generous management team to the entire DWPS family tree.

WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY - 30th June 2022
On 30th June 2022, DWPS Primary wing – Grade 2 kids conducted an Assembly on the topic” WORLD BLOOD DONOR DAY along with the “Theme of the month” – “Love Yourself – THE VICTORIOUS ME”. The assembly commenced with the prayer, followed by Powerful Quote, a poem on “VICTORIOUS ME” and a power-packed Ramp walk on different blood groups. The Ramp Walk highlighted the essential facts of donating blood, types of blood group, minimum age to donate blood. The students were asked to take oath on this, to know their responsibility as a human; a quiz was also conducted based on the same topic. The programme was rebooted by a powerful Tamil Kavithai. In the end, Madam Principal motivated the students to spread the word on the benefits of Blood Donation and to create better human.
ANTI CHILD LABOUR DAY - 23rd June 2022
Primary wing takes the pride for hosting the first assembly for this New Academic Year (2022-23) with the presenters from Grade 5 on 23rd June 2022. The assembly started with the prayer song, introducing new words followed by Theme of the month (The Victorious Me – Love Yourself) and the Day observation (Anti-child labour day). Children depicted the message on “Stop Child Labour” through Tamil poetry and a “Soul-stirring” MIME show was enacted, which brought tears in our little ones. Every presenter in the assembly did their part very well and the message was beautifully conveyed to the spectators of Grade 2 to 5. The assembly was concluded through a captivating message from our Madam Principal.

Accepting, appreciating and transmitting the beauty and power of the Indian fitness and relaxation technique – Yoga, the Delhi World Public School, Madurai organized a versatile compilation of contests related to Yoga and Music. An amazing Yoga cum Music oriented school assembly was also hosted where the DWPS fraternity witnessed breathtaking sun salutation displays by DWPians from various grades. Under the guidance and supervision of two Veteran yoga masters, several yogasanas, breathing and relaxation techniques etc were arranged in the school auditorium, for the ever ready and energetic students from grades 2 to 10. HELLO JUNE - ASSEMBLY - 13th june 2022

DWPS, Madurai was back to life and color in full swing, after the scorching summer break, on Monday, June 13, 2022. The management, heads, coordinators, facilitators and budding students gathered under one roof for an energizing and heart-warming welcome session assembly, blessed by the worthy presence of the DWPS Secretary and the Managing Director. The new team of students and facilitators were cordially welcomed through a self introductory session which was followed by recitals of thirukurals, brainstorming quiz sessions and empowering speeches by heads, facilitators and the management dignitaries. Each DWPS spirit was reminded that reopening’s are rebirths and new beginnings.
